Medicine Health Sciences Foundation (MHSF)
Programme

QUALIFICATION: Medicine Health Sciences Foundation (MHSF) Programme

DURATION: 18 Months

ENTRY REQUIRMENTS:

O Level ENTRY

Full school certificate with at least 5 credits including biology, chemistry, mathematics and English.

Practicing Health Professions

Candidates who have a diploma in a health-related profession are eligible for the MHSF and upon completion may gain exemptions in latter years if admitted to degree programmes.

ADMISSION REGULATIONS

Interviews

The standards of entry for CUZ medical school are exacting. All short-listed applicants will take a medical entry interview.  Applicants called for interview will face searching questions about their motivation, their work at school, hobbies and personal interests, as well as having to produce evidence of their academic achievements. A key question will be their reasons for wanting to become a health professional.

Age limits

Students must be at least 18 years of age at the time they start the medical degree course. There is no upper age limit, however, CUZ medical school will take account of the length of training (approximately 10 years) in relation to the length of service the candidate could provide. The early clinical contact in our programme means that younger students cannot be admitted as they would not be able to fully participate in the course.

Health Requirements

All students offered a place in the Medical School must provide a satisfactory general medical report from a registered medical practitioner (doctor) before they can be admitted.
